CFDA Designer, Christian Siriano is passionate about getting people to look their best so they feel confident and ready to take on the world. That’s why he teamed up with Burlington and The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (LLS), in an effort to celebrate the 18th year of partnership. Since 2002, this collaboration has raised over $37 million for critical life saving research and patient support services for those impacted by blood cancer.

The CFDA designer recently hosted an in-store event at Burlington’s flagship location in New York City where he met young cancer survivors. Since he was so busy at the event, we were able to catch up with Christian after he returned from Paris Fashion Week to learn more about his passion for the campaign and what’s next for him.

Why was it important for you to partner with LLS and Burlington on this fundraising campaign?

Partnering with Burlington and LLS, it brings together two of my passions, driving awareness for lifesaving cancer research, and of course, fashion. I believe in the cause and all the work Burlington and LLS have done over the past seventeen years to work towards their goal of creating a world without blood cancer.

Can you tell us about the event you recently hosted at Burlington’s New York flagship location in Union Square?

It was a blast! On September 17th, we kicked off the campaign with a fashion show at the Union Square store with seven young children who have been impacted by blood cancer. Each child was styled head to toe in Burlington based on their personal style and interests to help give them a confidence boost while they are transitioning out of treatment. To close the event, we surprised each child with a $250 Burlington shopping spree, which was so much fun!

What was the most memorable part of the event, and how did this partnership impact you?

Working with the children! It was such a fun treat for me to meet these brave young people. They are so inspiring and so courageous. Everyone has been impacted in some way by cancer and helping to fight for the cause to find cures for cancer is near and dear to my heart. I was humbled to be able to contribute my expertise and outfit these young survivors so that they can feel confident and fabulous!

How can people get involved and support the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society?

To get involved, people can head into any Burlington store now through December 2nd and donate $1 or more at checkout to benefit LLS. It’s that easy!

At Burlington, we’re all about personal style and achieving it with our every day low prices. Can you share with us some tips to finding your own personal style?

Personal style is all about wearing clothing that makes you feel confident while also showing off your personality. Whether it’s creating outfits inspired by your interests or favorite color, it’s about curating a wardrobe shows the world who you are. Clothing doesn’t have to be expensive to look put together and chic.
