Best Friends Style Swap

June 8th is National Best Friends Day. And what better way to celebrate than a style swap with your bestie! And Heidi in Customer Experience and Samantha in Marketing volunteered.

The duo met back in 2010 and have been friends ever since. They share lots of things in common but one difference? Their personal style.

“Heidi gravitates toward a look that’s preppy, classic and definitely feminine,” said Samantha. Heidi also likes to mix prints and bright colors with a more tailored look.

And Samantha? “I’d describe her look as laid-back and comfy with a little edge,” said Heidi.

For this challenge, we asked them both to dress in the style of their bestie. So we hit up Burlington to find their new look at a fraction of the price.

The Hunt

Commence: the search. Heidi is all about a great print, so that’s where Samantha focused.

On Heidi’s list? Denim. It’s a go-to in Samantha’s wardrobe.

“I chose this particular distressed denim because it had a ton of rips and frays,” Heidi said. “This helped me decide to make it the key piece of my new look.”

The Reveal

To capture that preppy look, Samantha added a classic chambray shirt over top of a pretty printed dress. “I do not usually wear statement jewelry,” said Samantha, “but I thought this necklace added a fun pop.”

Samantha also has a penchant for flats but she kicked up her look with a pair of Heidi-inspired, open-toe heels in a fab neutral.

To complete Heidi’s new look, she went with a dark top which she loved because it was “flowy”. And on her feet? Cute ‘n comfy blush sneakers.

So what did our duo think of the style swap?

“It was a lot of fun,” said Samantha. “I think my favorite part of my new outfit was the shoes. They were super comfortable and a great neutral that I can wear over and over again. I am excited to wear them throughout the summer!”

The shocker for Heidi? That rip ‘n repair denim. “I was surprised how much I ended up liking them,” she said. “I liked the wash and the denim was very soft. I’m looking forward to mixing and matching with what’s already in my closet.”
